This December, MiXX projects + atelier presents ‘Cold Moon’, a group show featuring work by Elisa Johns, Meredith Nemirov, Dave McClinton, and Sheila Giolitti. Borrowing its name from December’s full moon, ‘Cold Moon’ explores both the physical and spiritual energies of our natural environs.

Meredith Nemirov, Dave McClinton, and newly represented MiXX artist, Elisa Johns portray nature and landscape in a literal sense. McClinton’s digital photo collages of imagined landscapes poignantly capture the emotional impact of towering geological forms, while Nemirov and Johns use acrylic, oil, gouache, and mixed media to abstract real forms and landscapes in their own uniquely compelling ways. In contrast, Sheila Giolitti employs pure abstraction in her layered resin works to explore concepts of energy and unity through the lens of quantum physics.
